History of Ki no Kenkyukai Singapore

In 1987, Ki-Aikido was established in Singapore as the official affiliate to Ki no Kenkyukai (Ki Society) HQ, Japan, by chief instructor Francis Chong of Aikido Ki no Kenkyukai, Singapore.

The humble training centre i.e. Singa Dojo, was situated in Singapore Martial Arts Instructor Association whereby Sensei Francis Chong along with Sensei Alice Kow, promoted Ki-Aikido and Ki Development programmes. Ki-Aikido Singapore no longer utilises this training venue since 2006.

Two satellite training centres were established at Changi Simei CC (Yr 2001) and Woodlands CC (Yr 2002) whereby Sensei Francis Chong entrusted the teaching to Sensei Jonathan Anthony and Sensei Razali Hussein respectively.

In 2006 and 2007, training centres at Kampong Ubi CC and Jurong Spring CC was established and Sensei Jonathan Anthony was reassigned to care for Kampong Ubi CC training centre while Sensei Goh Yeow Tin was entrusted to look after the training centre at Jurong Spring CC.

Besides promoting the principles of Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido and Shin Shin Toitsudo, both Chief Instructor and Assistant Chief Instructor i.e. Sensei Francis and Sensei Alice, along with fellow Dojochos, are constantly on the lookout for creditable/responsible Yudanshas for future endeavors.
